Presently, our company have 21 locals and 45 foreign tower crane operators.
Future Expansion Plans
In years to come, our company intend to recruit another 15 local operators.
Tower crane operators are specialists in their field and their jobs can pose great danger to themselves and others. A tower crane operator must be able to focus and be safety-oriented, as they are responsible for building massive, tall structures.
Tower crane operators wok closely with construction workers and the other heavy machinery operators, like spotters. The primary duty of a tower crane operator is to assist in moving large and heavy objects across distances at the ground level or much higher levels. Should the operator be carless in handling the tower crane, collisions can occur where building materials, projects or even people can get injured or damaged.
Their working hours varies, as it is dependent on the amount of sunlight during the day. They can Work between 6.00am to 8.00am in the morning, and the duration of their shift, often based on the projects they are allocated to and the project deadline.
A tower crane operator is required to complete high school with diploma and acquire completion of apprenticeship at a heavy machinery school to fully certified and operational for industrial use.
Tower Crane Operator’s tasks:
- Ability to maneuver and control the tower crane on the control console or remotely via remote control.
- Base crane movements upon hand and radio signals from ground supervisor or signaler.
- Operate the tower crane to move large and heavy objects such as construction materials and shipping containers.
